Hey there! So this is a journal dedicated to answering frequently asked questions about my Castiel cosplay. I get many asks on every picture about various things on this outfit, so I decided to go ahead and answer them all in one place~

THE COAT

      I never personally found the accurate coat to buy. I did find out that the jacket was originally sold by JC Penny, but they are no longer in production and I never found one for sale. The website I found it on was an overstock site and they were already sold out, and now even that page is down. My coat is NOT the accurate coat. I ended up making a lucky thrift-store find with a coat that was the right color and size for me, but had a strange flap on one shoulder and no straps on the cuffs. I ended up seam-ripping off the flap and re-sewing the shoulder, then hemming the cuffs and adding the wrist straps using the fabric from the shoulder straps.


THE TIE

      It's a navy-blue Calvin-Klein tie that has a set of raised diagonal stripes and a specific grey lining on the back. (a good reference of the back of the tie plus the patern: [link] I never ended up finding that tie either, but I found a light-blue version of it and hand-dyed it veeeery carefully to keep the grey backing fabric from getting dyed.


THE MAKEUP

      I was in fact wearing contacts, though the pictures sort of ended up looking like I had photoshopped them blue. The only differences between this tutorial and how I did my Cas makeup was that his beard-pattern is more unique to the actor (such as the bare-skin right above his cupid-bow lips), I used brown eyeshadow to give myself crows-feet, bags under my eyes, and forehead creases, and then a light rouge to recreate Misha's reddish-cheeks.
